A place where the promises made to children are fulfilled.

In the year 2000, Kerry Bowden made a promise to her dear granddaughter Caitlin. She committed to working hard so that by the year 2015, her granddaughter would live in a better world. After doing this, Kerry realized that what she had promised was, in fact, a better world for all children. This was the start of the Promise Club.

ANIA is a partner in this project and now we would like to share it with everyone that visits our website. In this way, any adult can be a part of it by making a promise to one or more children to improve the world in which they live. We invite you to meet some of our current members and the promises they have made, we invite you to join the club and to be part of the results.

Promise:
“The Children’s Forest”

What I want, and promise to achieve, is my 3-year-old niece Angelita to have a different world around the forest, and the community to be different; that children have a park to play, an ecological garden and a farm for their daily livelihood. Also, I want a home to be built, completely furnished, from a needle to a computer, so that we can relate in this way with the whole world and have the privilege of communication.    I also want us to have a workshop in which we could make handcrafts and hence, manage our natural resources and our forest in a sustainable way. Thanks to everybody for reading these lines, dream with this project; let’s be part of this challenge, let’s built a better world together, with children protecting nature, a nature in which Angelita, me and all of you can be main actors. This dream is a promise and a reality that I want for 2015.

“Everyone’s Garden”

If you love plants, any plant, you are a better person in this world. I take care of all kinds of plants, especially medicinal ones, not only in order to look at them, but in order to use them. My promise is to continue taking care of the garden in front of my house, which is everyone’s garden, and share the plants with any person that asks for it. If you have any health condition you can also visit me and I will give you the medicinal plants that you need.
Plants never complain, unlike us, when they are maltreated, this is why plants and many other members of nature have a disadvantage without us even realizing the damage that we are causing them.
